More than that and everything starts to feel rushed.Stay in Bardstown or Louisville
Both are great home bases depending on your route.Book tastings early
The best tours fill up fast especially on weekends.Don’t chase rare bottles

If you only have a short trip planned, here’s my full 2 day Kentucky Bourbon Trail itinerary.
Day 1: Bardstown Area
Morning: Bardstown Bourbon Company
Afternoon: Heaven Hill OR Willett
Dinner: Downtown Bardstown
Day 2: Frankfort / Lexington
Morning: Buffalo Trace
Afternoon: Woodford Reserve
Optional: Castle & Key if you have time

3 Day Bourbon Trail Itinerary
This is the sweet spot for most people.
Day 1: Bardstown

Willett OR Heaven Hill
Day 2: Unique Experience Day
Augusta Distillery (barrel thieving is a must)
Optional second stop nearby
Day 3: Lexington Area
Buffalo Trace
Woodford Reserve
